Research Collections + Game Library
The Centre for Pixel Culture maintains a research collection of a variety of video game consoles. Currently the collection includes:
- Atari 2600
- ColecoVision (including Expansion modules I & II)
- Atari Jr. (2600)
- Nintenda Entertainment System (NES)
- Sega Genesis
- Super Nintendo (SNES)
- Nintendo 64 (N64)
- PlayStation One
- PlayStation Two (PS2)
- Nintendo GameCube (GC)
In addition to our hardware collection, we also maintain a video game library & archive. Our game catalogue is housed by the Sadleir House Library, and can be browsed as part of the Alternative Libraries @ Trent initiative (ALTi) catalogue: http://library.sadleirhouse.ca/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?limit=location%3APIXEL
Borrowing policies are in progress and should be in place over the summer 2014 - in the meantime, please feel free to contact us for information about borrowing or accessing the collection. Pleae note that only game catridges and discs will be borrowable, consoles may only be used on site.
Much of our collection is on loan from private collections, and we are thankful for those who currently support our project!
